The Tumaini Counselling Centre in Karen, Nairobi, is a well-established facility offering a wide range of services. The center features 10 counseling rooms, a comfortable waiting area, a dedicated play therapy space, a conference center that accommodates up to 100 participants, a comprehensive library with resources on mission and member care, and beautiful gardens. Tumaini offers both face-to-face and virtual counseling, along with other services.

How to Arrange an Appointment To schedule an appointment at Tumaini Nairobi, please contact us via phone or email at clinicalasst.ac@aimint.org. Our clinical assistant will gather basic information and forward your request to one of our counselors, who will respond within 48 hours.

If you are traveling to Nairobi specifically for an appointment at Tumaini, please coordinate with us before making travel arrangements. This allows us to ensure availability during your stay and helps you plan for a sufficient duration to address your needs. A short visit of a few days may be enough for a basic evaluation, but addressing deeper concerns or starting new medications may require a stay of 2–3 weeks or longer, depending on the issue's severity or duration. Virtual counseling is also available, depending on the nature of your concerns and the most appropriate service for your needs.

DIRECTIONS

Location:
Tumaini Counselling Centre, Nairobi is located in Karen, a residential community on the southwest side of Nairobi, just off Langata Road, between Langata South Road and Hillcrest School.

Driving Directions:

  1. From Nairobi (Town):

    • Head west of Wilson Airport on Langata Road for approximately 7 km.

    • After passing the Langata South Road and the Nairobi Academy sign, continue for an additional 0.5 km.

    • Turn left onto Silanga Road.

    • Take the first left (a murram road)

    • Tumaini is the first gate on your right after passing the hotel.

  2. From Karen Shopping Centre:

    • Head east on Langata Road towards town for about 5 km.

    • Approximately 1 km after passing Hillcrest School, turn right onto Silanga Road, marked with signs for the Red Brick Hotel and Tumaini.

    • Follow the directions above from Silanga Road.

 

Public Transportation Directions:

  1. From Downtown Nairobi:

    • Board the Naboka bus at Bus Station stage.

    • The bus will pass through Uhuru Highway and then Langata Road.

    • Alight at the junction of Langata Road and Langata South Road (the stage is called Mamba or stage 12).

    • The shuttle will turn left onto Langata South Road, but do not follow it. Continue on Langata Road.

    • Walk for about 0.5 km and turn left onto Silanga Road, which is marked with signs for the Red Brick Hoteland Tumaini.

    • Tumaini is just past the Red Brick Hotel.

  2. Alternative Route from Downtown:

    • Take Matatu No. 125/126 to Rongai, and alight at Bomas.

    • From Bomas, take Karen Matatu No. 24

    • Follow the signs for the Red Brick Hotel and Tumaini.

  3. From Karen:

    • Take Bomas Matatu and follow the sign for Red Brick Hotel and Tumaini.

    • Alight at Silanga Road and follow the signs for the Red Brick Hotel and Tumaini.
